4 large eggs, slightly beaten
¼ cup sugar
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
1/3 cup orange juice and milk
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 loaf French bread, cut into 1” slices
1/3 cup butter, melted
½ cup macadamia nuts, chopped
Combine first 6 ingredients; stirring well. Dip bread slices in mixture and arrange in a 13x9" baking pan. Pour remaining liquid over slices, cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours, turning slices once. Pour butter into a jelly-roll pan, place bread slices in a single layer and sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 400 for 20-30 minutes. Garnish with powdered sugar and nutmeg. Serve immediately. NOTE: Good served with maple syrup.
