2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter softened; plus 2/3 cup butter
1 cup pecan halves
5 oz milk chocolate, cut up
Preheat oven to 350. Combine flour, 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup softened butter in a bowl and beat until smooth., about 3-5 minutes. Pat mixture evenly over butter of an ungreased 13x9 inch baking pan. Spread the nuts evenly over the bottom.
Combine the2/3 cup butter with the remaining 1/2 cup sugar in a saucepan. Beat to boiling, stirring constantly, over medium heat. Boil for 1 minute. Spread evenly over crust in pan. Bake until golden and bubbly, about 18 minutes. Remove from oven and using a sharp knife, cut through the chocolate and make swirls. Do not spread the chocolate, Cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into bars.
