2 cups sugar
1 cup butter
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch salt
10 oz chocolate bar, melted
2 1/2 cups flour, sifted
1 cup buttermilk
Pinch baking soda
1 cup chopped pecans

Icing
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 cup milk
5 (1 oz) squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp vanilla extract

Cake: Cream butter and sugar. Continue beating adding eggs and remaining ingredients. Pour batter into a greased cake pan. Bake at 300 for 1 hour and 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Icing: Mix sugar and milk. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and cook 6 minutes. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients. Cool. Beat until smooth and spread on cake.
