1/2 lb butter, softened
1 lb confectioners sugar
1 lb flaked coconut
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate coating
1 (12 oz) pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
4 (1 oz) squares unsweetened chocolate
2x1x1/2 inch piece paraffin wax
In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add the next4 ingredients; stir until blended. Chill until slightly firm; roll into walnut-sized balls. Insert wooden toothpicks in each ball. Place on cookie sheets and freeze.
Coating: In a double boiler, melt chips and squares with wax. Keep warm over hot water. Using picks as handles, dip frozen balls into chocolate mixture; stick picks upright onto waxed paper coated cookie sheets. Chill until firm. Remove picks and pkg candy in individual paper liners. Makes 7 dozen
