6 apples, peeled and sliced
3/4 cup flour, sifted
3/4 cup sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground cloves
6 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup nuts, chopped
2 tsp lemon juice
Vanilla ice cream

Preheat oven to 350. Place sliced apples and 1/2 of the sugar in bowl. Add the spices and lemon juice. Toss lightly and pour into a buttered 8 inch dish. Blend the remaining sugar, flour, salt and butter to a crumbly consistency. Add the nuts and sprinkle over apple mixture. Bake 45 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is nicely browned. Serve warm with ice cream.

NOTE: This can be easily doubled and put into a 13x9 inch baking pan.
