4 tbsp butter
8 large mushrooms, sliced
1 onion, quartered and thinly sliced
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tbsp flour
1 cup milk
2 tsp lemon juice
1/4 tsp nutmeg
Salt, pepper and hot sauce, to taste
2 tbsp cracker crumbs
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese

Heat 2 tbsp butter in a skillet. Sauté mushroom and set aside. Add onions and garlic to skillet, saute 8-10 minutes or until onions are tender. Place onion mixture in a shallow buttered baking dish.

Layer mushrooms over onions. Heat remaining butter n skillet, stir in flour and cook 3 minutes. Add milk and stir until thickened. Add next 5 ingredients to blend. Pour over vegetables. Blend cracker crumbs and cheese then sprinkle over top. Bake at 400 for 8 minutes or until very hot and golden.
