  • 26 ounces canned clams, drained
  • 1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 6 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 3 cups water
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups half and half
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch

Combine the clams, cooked bacon, onion, cubed potatoes, water, salt, and pepper in the crock pot.

Cover the crock pot and cook on high for 3-4 hours.

Combine the half and half with the cornstarch until the cornstarch is dissolved. Stir the mixture in to the soup. Cook on high for one more hour or until the soup has thickened some.

Serve the clam chowder hot with oyster crackers or saltines.
