Grilled - Honey Barbecue Chicken Strips

½ cup barbecue sauce
½ cup honey
3 Tbsp olive oil
3 Tbsp lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
2 Tbsp sriracha, optional and to taste
3 cloves garlic, finely minced or pressed
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
1 1/4 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts tenders
fresh cilantro or parsley, optional for garnishing


1. To a large zip lock plastic bag, add all ingredients except the optional fresh herbs. Seal bag and squish the contents around so chicken is evenly coated.
2. Place bag in the fridge to marinate for at least 1 hour (overnight is great if you can plan ahead).
3. Preheat an outdoor grill (or grill pan if making inside) to medium-high heat and grill the chicken for about 7 minutes, or until done; flip intermittently to ensure even cooking.
4. Pull From Grill and let rest for 8-10 minutes.
5. Optionally garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.

*****Note*****
If you want extra marinade to use as a dipping sauce for the chicken, add the full amounts to the zip lock bag and then to a small bowl.
