Very Low Sodium Soy Sauce Substitute

This is a very good substitute for soy sauce for those who have to restrict their sodium. Nutrition per tablespoon Sodium: 1.5 mg Potassium: 57.81 mg Phosphorous: 1.22 mg

    Prep Time:   5 min    Cook Time:   30 sec.    Total Time:   5 min

3/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 garlic cloves, sliced
3 tablespoons dark molasses
1 tablespoon onion powder

Put vinegar in a microwave-safe bowl. Warm, but do not boil. Add sliced garlic. Cover with plastic wrap. Let set on the counter overnight. Strain out garlic. Add molasses and onion powder. Whisk well to mix. Store in a jar with a lid in the refrigerator. Stir and use as you would soy sauce.
Note: Prep time does not include marinating time for garlic and vinegar overnight.
