All American Cheeseburgers II

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons ketchup
- 4 slices American cheese
- 4 slices tomato
- 4 slices Bermuda or red onion
- 4 split hamburger buns, toasted and buttered
Combine the ground beef, salt, and pepper in a bowl and mix to combine. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Shape the ground beef into 1-inch thick patties. Place in the hot skillet and cook for 6-8 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Top each burger with ketchup, 1 slice cheese, 1 tomato slice, and 1 onion slice. Place the burger between the toasted buns and serve immediately with any other additional toppings as desired.
