Category: Pies & Pastry
Prep Time:       Cook Time:   55 minutes    Total Time:

3 eggs
1 cup white white corn syrup
1 cup sugar
2 Tbsp butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cup pecan halves
1 unbaked pie shell

Mix together the first 5 ingredients, then stir in the pecans. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 350 for 50-55 minutes.

For the grandmother’s version, which is also known as Bourbon Street Pecan Pie, use blackstrap molasses instead of the white corn syrup.

Sorry guys, the Bourbon Street name is all about a street in New Orleans and an old style of cooking. It has absolutely nothing to do with the liquor. It’s the recipe old southern ladies used, however, and our grandmothers were old southern belles.
