Another wonderful recipe Granny left us... My husband remembers stopping by his Granny's house on the way home from school and she'd have these made and ready for her grandchildren to devour before heading home to homework and chores. I never tasted one of hers, but they assure me they were the best anyone could ever make, then or now. I'm not one to disagree with good food.

Category: Pies & Pastry
Prep Time:       Cook Time:       Total Time:

2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 small can Pet milk
1/2 cup shortening
1 tsp salt

Jam, Jelly, or dried fruit that’s been cooked to rehydrate and sweetened

Mix dry ingredients and shortening until crumbly. Add milk. Mix with fork or pastry blender.

Roll onto floured surface to about 1/8-in. Use a saucer as a guide to cut around, forming pie crusts.

Place filling, leaving room at the edges to seal. Dampen edges of crust, then fold over and press edges to seal.

Pan fry in hot oil or grease until brown (Golden). Drain on towels then serve hot or cold.
