Easy Strudel

After I "created" this, I discovered frozen puff pastry, which, of course, you may use instead of the canned croissants. It's so much easier than rolling out the very thin strudel dough, and I think it's just as good.

3 cans refrigerator crescent rolls
I can cherry or apple pie filling
About a cup of chopped pecans or walnuts
3/4 cup raisins
3/4 cup dried cherries
Butter
Brown sugar
Cinnamon

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Coat cookie sheet with nonstick spray. Lay out crescent dough from one and a half cans onto pan. You'll have 3 rows of rolls. Press slightly together loosely forming a common crust. Thinly spread the pie filling over all the dough. Sprinkle raisins, nuts, and dried cherries over this. Roll out remaining crescents to form a top crust. Place a thin slice of butter onto each crescent in the top crust. Then sprinkle lightly first with brown sugar, and then with cinnamon. Bake at 400"F for 13 to 15 minutes. Serve warm.
