From a recipe card given to me at my kitchen shower when I married... No idea who the original author is. It's very similar to the Gooey Butter Cake Recipe that Paula Deen made famous a few years ago.

Category: Cakes & Frosting
Prep Time:       Cook Time:       Total Time:

Preheat oven to 350ºF.

For the crust:
1 large egg
1 18.25 oz. yellow cake mix
1/2 cup Butter Flavor Crisco

Remember that for baking, eggs and butter both should be at room temperature. Mix together and press into a 9 X 13 cake pan. I grease the pan. Set aside.

Filling:
3 large eggs
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup Butter Flavor Crisco
1 tsp. butter flavoring
8 ounces softened cream cheese

Mix together until completely blended and smooth. Pour over the crust above and bake for about 40 minutes. It's better if chilled before serving.

Store in refrigerator; freezes well.
