1 tsp kosher sea salt
1 Tbsp ground cumin, or more to taste
1 tsp garlic powder
Puree the chick peas to a course consistency. Add seasonings and blend thoroughly. Taste and adjust seasonings to your liking. If you want a spicy hummus, add a few drops Tabasco or Sriracha sauce.

Note: When I made this (original) recipe for a church dinner that a man from the Middle East attended, he told me I make Syrian hummus. He said they like a lot of cumin. I had no idea!
