- 1 head cabbage
- 1 onion
- 1/2 cup diced bacon (uncooked)
- chicken stock, as needed
- 1 tablespoon butter or margarine, cut in bits
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Slice the cabbage into 1/2-inch thick slices. Slice the onion thinly. Layer the cabbage, onion, and diced bacon in a baking pan. Add enough stock to fill the dish about 1/2-inch full. Sprinkle the cabbage with salt and pepper. Dot with the butter. Cover the pan with foil and place in the oven. Bake at 325 degrees F for 30-40 minutes or until the cabbage is tender. Remove from the oven and serve hot.
