Chili

1/4 cup chili seasoning (recipe below)
1 TBSP brown sugar
1 lb ground meat of your choice
1/4 large onion
1 med jalapeno
1 small bell pepper
1 large tomato or 1 can diced tomatoes
1 can light red kidney beans
1 can chili beans
1 small can tomato sauce
1 small can tomato paste
Crushed red pepper to taste

Brown meat. While browning dice onion, jalapeno, bell pepper and tomato into size of your choice. When meat is cooked combine all ingredients in a large soup pot. Simmer with lid until vegetables are soft, stirring periodically.

This is a mild - med hot recipe. To make it hotter add cayenne pepper and more crushed red pepper, as well as leave the seeds with the jalapeno. You can also add hot sauce if you want.

4 good size servings.

Serve with shredded cheese, crackers or sour cream.



Chili Seasoning Mix
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 teaspoons cumin
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon oregano



Mix it up. There you go
