Ingredients:
(1) 4 Potatoes
(2)3 onions
(3) 2 cups bengal gram flour
(4) 8 green chillies
(5) A small piece ginger
(6) 4 cloves garlic
(7)1 cup grated coconut
(8) Little sugar to taste
(9) Juice of one lime
(10) 1 bunch coriander leaves
(11) Oil for deep frying
(12) 1 tsp mustard seeds
(13)½ tsp turmeric powder
(14) ½ tsp red chili powder
(15) 1 tsp cumin seeds
(16) A pinch of baking soda
(17) Salt to taste

Method:

Boil potatoes, peel outer skin and slightly mash• Grind green chillies, garlic and ginger to a fine paste• Mix potato, onions, ginger and garlic chili paste, coriander leaves, sugar, lime juice and salt to taste• Add mustard seeds in heated oil and when they splutter, add to the potato mixture along with coriander leaves• Prepare smooth batter with the bengal gram flour, salt to taste, cumin seeds, red chili powder and turmeric powder• Add a teaspoon of hot oil when making the batter• Divide the potato mixture into equal sized round balls• Dip each ball in the batter and deep fry in heated oil till it becomes golden brown in color.
