Serves 6
1 lb ground beef
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 Tbsp oil
2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1 (6 oz) can water
1 tsp chopped parsley
1/4 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 (16 oz) pkg lasagna noodles
1 (16 oz) carton ricotta cheese
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
2 cup shredded American cheese
3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Brown ground beef with garlic in oil in saucepan, stirring frequently; drain. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, water, parsley and seasonings; mix well. Simmer for 30 minutes. Cook noodles according to pkg directions; drain. Spread 1/4 of the meat sauce in 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer noodles, cheeses and remaining meat sauce 1/3 at a time in prepared dish. Bake, covered, at 350 F for 40. Bake, uncovered, for 5 minutes longer. Let stand for several minutes. Cut into squares to serve.
