1 large onion, chopped
1 lb round steak, thinly sliced
1 tsp garlic salt
2 Tbsp oil
2 tsp ground cloves
1 (12 oz) can tomato juice
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
pinch of basil
Saute onion and beef with garlic salt in oil in skillet until brown. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cook, covered, over low heat for 2 hours or until tender, adding a small amount of tomato juice if necessary.
