Serves 6-8

1 medium onion, chopped
3 Tbsp. olive oil
1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
1 (6 oz) cans tomato paste
1/2 cup wine
1/2 cup water
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
12 oz. lasagna noodles
2 cup small curd cottage cheese
8 oz sour cream
2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

Saute onion in olive oil in saucepan. Add ground beef and garlic. Cook until ground beef is brown and crumbly; drain. Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, wine, water, sugar, oregano, salt and pepper; mix well. Simmer, covered, for 1 1/2 hours.
Cook noodles in boiling salted water according to package directions; drain. Mix dour cream and cottage cheese in a bowl.
Arrange 1/3 of the noodles lengthwise in 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer 1/3 of the meat sauce, cottage cheese mixture and mozzarella cheese over noodles. Repeat layers, arranging crosswise for the second layer and lengthwise for the third layer. Top with Parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes.
