Prep Time:       Cook Time:       Total Time:

One 4-oz. scoop of ice cream (easier if it doesn't have fruit or nuts in it)
2 egg whites, beaten until frothy
1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs

Toppings:
Chocolate sauce
Whipped cream
Maraschino cherry

Directions:
Bring the fair home and make your own Deep Fried Ice Cream. 'Cause you know ice cream needed to get less healthy. This is a really fun thing to do - very yin-yang: hot and cold, creamy and crunchy.

Yield: 1 dessert

Mold ice cream into a ball, then freeze again until solid. After it's frozen, roll it in egg white, then in cracker crumbs and refreeze.

Heat a fryer to 360 degrees F. Submerge ice cream in fryer for 1 minute. Any longer and the ice cream will melt out of the cracker crumb crust.

Put ice cream ball in a serving bowl. Top with your favorite toppings. My favorite is to treat it like an ice cream sundae and top with chocolate sauce, whipped cream and a cherry.
