Prep Time: Cook Time: Total Time:
1 russett potato (per serving)
oil
salt
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Scrub the potatoes under cold running water and pat dry.
Coat the potatoes with a very small amount of oil (less than 1/2 teaspoon) and sprinkle with salt. Put them directly on the oven rack in preheated oven.
The potatoes will take about an hour to bake, but check them after about 45 minutes. Take them out and poke with a fork; once the fork pierces the inside easily, they are done.
Serve with butter, salt and pepper and other toppings such as sour cream and shredded cheese if you like.
